Repeat Prescriptions

If you require a repeat prescription then the request for the medication you want needs to be made in writing.
We do not accept medication requests over the phone

You can make requests for medication in the following way:
• By sending an email to admin.miltonsurgery@nhs.net
• By using Online Patient Access or the NHS app
• By placing the repeat prescription slip or a written note detailing your name, date of birth, medication required and pharmacy you would like to collect medication from in the letter box at the surgery

Please note that we require TWO working days to issue a prescription.

Please ensure that you request your medication in plenty of time. Your nominated pharmacy will also need time to dispense the medications so we would advise you put your prescription request in 5-7 working days before you need to start taking the medication.

Dispensing Medication

If you live more than a mile (1.6 kilometres) from the nearest chemist you are allowed to collect your medication directly from the surgery rather than having to take a prescription to a chemist. If you would like to do this, please ask at reception.

Prescriptions Advice

Our Dispenser, Shirley Earl, is available to discuss your prescriptions on 01223 519053 every weekday between 08:00 and 12:00. Please note there is no one in the dispensary in the afternoon and our reception team are not able to assist with prescription queries.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
