TRAVEL VACCINATION CLINICS

We are now able to offer our patients travel advice.

Patients are advised to complete a travel risk assessment at least 4 weeks before your appointment so that the nurse can adequately assess your travel needs. These are available from reception or to download (above).

We also recommend you download a "Travel Well" leaflet from the link in the " Clinics and Services section of this website".

Your appointment must be booked before the assessment form will be assessed.

We also hold a price list for all of the private vaccines to download or to ask at reception. Please do bring cash or cheque to your appointment as we do not accept card payments.

The clinics will be held once a month at Milton Surgery with our Lead Nurse Sarah Birks or Lisa Jones.

We will not be able to advise imminent travellers, 4-6 weeks before travel only.

Temporary Registration

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact your local practice. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
